Meme Division- South West region

In Meme division, project team has been able to achieve the following:

Health. Support 20 educative talks on “the prevention of HIV/AIDS, STDs and other killer diseases.
With our partnership with UNFPA that donated emergency contraceptive pills for rape cases and
contraceptives (male condoms) this exercise was a great success in Kumba 1, 2 and 3 sub-divisions.
(Sonac street, Kumba main market, Fiango market, BICEC junction and Anglican). After this sensitizations, contraceptive where shared to our audience and the public in general, emergency
contraceptive pills were given to rape victims within 72 hours and where taken to the hospital to test
other infections.
Way forward. We intend to cover the entire meme division and to provide more kits to the
population with the help of our partner (UNFPA) and two win more partnership with other influential org.
Livelihood. Project team sign Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with two apprentice workshop
(Rapido bakery and universal carpentry workshop). This memorandum was sign between the organization and this renowned apprentice workshop, to train beneficiaries of our project at a low cost and to have a better knowledge modern machine (equipment for large scale production). The project will take charge of the training fees and in some cases the family can pay a specified portion
if necessary.
Way forward: We intend to partner with more apprenticeship workshop so as to have divers trade for our beneficiaries and not to over crowd partner workshop.

 

Manyu Division- South West region

In Manyu division, project team was able to achieve the following:

Education. Project team was able to visit 3 schools in Manyu division (GHS Mamfe town, EST Danayo Nursery and Primary school and Catholic Nursery and Primary school Bachou Akagbe). Our mission to
these schools was to empower, teach and promote health information among peers. We had educative talks
on “societal and peer influence” with the students and pupils in this institutions. After the talk, some
students and pupils that where active during the program were given tooth paste and tooth brush.
Principals and head teachers of these institutions recommended regular monthly visit of the team to
their schools. They share their appreciation as the lessons where not just important to the students
but to the teachers too. This recommendation was considered by management and so the team
visited as recommended by the school. 

Way forward. Project team plan to visit more schools in Manyu division and increase regular visits to
this schools so as to impact more lives. 

Livelihood. Still in Manyu division, the team was able to visit 5 villages (Bachou Akagbe, Mamfe town, Bachou Ntia, Mensiegn and Boyong village). The team supported educative talk on “sustainable
livelihood strategies” in social gathering and other gathering, with villagers and village heads
present. After these talks, the audience where given soaps, tooth paste and brush, groundnut oil and
salts. The villagers and village heads gave outstanding testimonies and appreciation not just to the
gift but to knowledge they acquire during the program and recommended the team to visit regular for more knowledge on “sustainable livelihood strategies

Way forward. Project team plan to visit more villages in Manyu division subsequently with the
support of a donor.
